Assignments:

1 - Read the ICD-9-CM Official Coding Guidelines for each lesson as directed in the PowerPoint presentations.

2 - Watch and listen to each PowerPoint presentation. Downloadable PowerPoints and scripts are available for you.

3 - Following each presentation, do the practice coding to become familiar with each particular chapter of ICD-9-CM. After you submit the practice coding, go back to it and find the answers and see if your answers match. Feedback is provided, indicating one way to locate the codes.

The computer "grader" is looking for an exact match, keystroke for keystroke. Your answers may be correct, but the grader thinks it is wrong if you added an extra space or didn't put a comma between codes. You will know if it is right or wrong. No "grade" is taken for practice coding. Please refer to the “How to Do This MOOC” page in the Start Here folder.
